The Oral is an alternative treatment to heal nail fungus from the inside out. During your intake process, there is no action you need to take to be considered for this therapy. After reviewing your case, your Caratin doctor will reach out if this is an appropriate treatment addition.
There are a number of medications available today, but our favorites are terbinafine and itraconazole, which work by preventing the fungus from building the “walls” of the cell. Your doctor will choose the best one for you, based on your specific needs and preferences.
Terbinafine is a daily pill. When treating the fingernails, you take terbinafine once daily for up to six weeks, and 12 weeks for toenail infections.
Itraconazole is a pill taken twice daily for 1 week per month. For fingernails you continue this treatment for 2 months whereas for toenails it is done for 3 months.
