I've had nail fungus for years after dropping a paint can on one big toe. Instead of turning black and falling off, it turned white and thick. I assumed it would grow out and be fine... Instead it's caused years of annoyance. I went to a podiatrist who recommended laser treatment (he said the brush on treatment was usually $600-700 per bottle and I didn't want to use pills). So I did expensive laser treatments on and off for about a year and a half. It would work, until I stopped, then the fungus would just get worse again.
